Professional Journey

For nearly two decades, I have worked across communities to expand access to education, designing literacy programs, supporting teachers, and building models that improve how children learn.

Through initiatives such as Dolly Children Foundation and Dolly Stars School, I’ve worked directly with children, families, and educators. That experience continues to shape how I think about education today; not just as programs, but as systems that must work for everyone.

Over the years, this work has reached over 23,000 children, supported 2,500+ teachers, and mobilised more than ₦185 million toward education initiatives.

My journey into education development began with a close view of how unequal access to learning shapes outcomes for children.

I began with community-based literacy and support programs, working directly with children in underserved environments. Over time, this work grew into broader interventions:

  • Building reading and learning programs within schools and communities.
  • Supporting teachers through training and capacity development.
  • Improving learning environments through school-based projects.
  • Expanding into convening through Edufuture, bringing together educators and stakeholders.

I have worked with educators, communities, and partners across multiple states and organisations to design and implement education initiatives that improve learning outcomes.

My work is increasingly focused on how community-based education models can inform broader systems—through collaboration, research, and strategic engagement.

I am currently deepening this work to evolve into policy and governance, with a focus on contributing to more inclusive and effective education systems across Africa.

“Every child’s mind is like an elastic band when stretched with the right support, it expands into confidence, voice, and possibility.”

Leadership & Engagement

Beyond program implementation, I contribute to the wider education and social impact ecosystem through leadership and mentorship.

I currently serve on the boards of:

  • Teens Going for Gold Network.
  • Dealtar Initiative.
  • UGIP Development Foundation.

I also mentor emerging educators and leaders through platforms such as Teach for Nigeria and other community-based initiatives.

Recognition & Affiliations

My work has been recognised across local and international platforms, including:

  • African Humanitarian Award (Education Champion, 2025).
  • 50 African Women in Development.
  • Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI Fellow).
  • WIMBIZ Mentorship Programme (Top 3 Awardee).

These recognitions reflect years of consistent work alongside communities, educators, and partners committed to improving access to learning.

Current Direction

I am increasingly focused on how community-based education models can inform broader systems through collaboration, research, and strategic engagement. Today, my work focuses on:

  • Expanding access to learning for children in underserved communities.
  • Strengthening teachers and improving classroom experiences.
  • Designing practical, scalable approaches to learning.
  • Connecting community-based insights with broader education conversations

My work continues to evolve, but the goal remains the same: to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
